JF Packaging (JFP-N-0000) will begin trading on the Colombo Stock Exchange on 19 November after its IPO was oversubscribed 6.3x; the issue offered 51,724,144 shares at LKR 11.60 aiming to raise LKR 600 million. Proceeds will be used to repay term and revolving import loans to reduce finance costs and strengthen the balance sheet.
Acme Printing and Packaging PLC announced a one-for-six rights issue to raise Rs. 1.4 billion by issuing 570 million shares at Rs. 2.50 each. Proceeds are planned for factory relocation, settling intercompany loans, repaying bank borrowings and working capital; stated capital was Rs. 835.1m and NAV per share was negative Rs. 6.43 at end-June 2025; issue is subject to shareholder and CSE approval.

Colombo Stock Exchange closed higher: ASPI +0.91% at 20,965 and S&P SL20 +1.16% at 5,971, with turnover Rs6.86bn led by diversified financials, banks and capital goods. Top contributors included Nations Trust Bank, DFCC, John Keells, Singer and Melstacorp; First Capital Treasuries declared a Rs5 dividend and Acme announced a six‑for‑one rights issue.
Foreign investors were net buyers with a Rs. 510.4 million inflow as the ASPI rose 0.12% and turnover was Rs. 2.43 billion; key contributors included John Keells, Vallibel One, Commercial Bank, Dialog and others.
Colombo market ended the session marginally down with the ASPI falling 10 points to 15,916 while both ASPI and S&P SL20 gained 0.4% for the week; turnover was about Rs.1.5–1.54 billion and Materials led activity. Ceylon Grain Elevators (GRAN) rose 6.06% and HNB gained, while HHL, TJL, SPEN and RCL pressured the index; ACME closed flat.
