Dialog Axiata's subsidiary Digital Health launched Sri Lanka's first AI-powered health scan on the Doc990 app, enabling users to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability and stress via their smartphones. The feature is also positioned for corporate wellness and insurance use cases.

Colombo market extended gains as the ASPI closed at 11,992.91 (+1.16%), led by banking and consumer durables; HNB, Sampath, Commercial Bank, DFCC and John Keells were top positive contributors amid higher turnover and renewed apparel export demand.

Dialog Axiata PLC launched the trilingual Sayuru mobile app for day-boat fishermen offering real-time weather, SOS alerts, route marking and other services; it has a 90-day trial then a Rs.2/day subscription and free data for Dialog customers. The Sayuru SMS/voice service supports over 100,000 users and sends millions of weather alerts.

Colombo Stock Exchange closed higher: All Share Index +0.54% to 10,884 and S&P SL20 +0.81% to 3,061, led by bank stocks which generated Rs5,514mn of turnover. Total turnover was Rs1.2bn with a net foreign outflow of Rs38.96mn; top turnover names included HNB, Commercial Bank, Sampath and Nations Trust.

Dialog Axiata PLC hosted the Dialog Innovation Challenge grand finale, with SeaLanka winning the top prize and a chance to pitch to the Dialog Innovation Fund; Dialog said it will support winners with ongoing monitoring and monetisation.

Dialog Axiata PLC completed the amalgamation with Bharti Airtel Lanka effective 30 August, consolidating Airtel Lanka into Dialog and lifting Dialog's subscriber base above 20 million. Network integration will continue over coming months and the Airtel brand will be retained within Dialog.
