Hela Apparel Holdings raised Rs1,597,570,550 through a rights issue of 319,514,110 ordinary voting shares to enable a sub-subsidiary to settle existing bank borrowings. The share traded at Rs6.10 and the company earlier acquired UK-based Focus Brands for £8m.
The ASPI fell 0.65% to 10,571, taking its YTD return to -0.78%. Declines in Commercial Bank, John Keells, Sampath and HNB led the drop; turnover was Rs.1bn (up 46.9% vs monthly average) and foreign investors were net buyers of Rs.131.1m.
