Terms of use

EquityLK is a research and tracking platform for Sri Lanka's stock market. It presents market and company information, news and sentiment, automated research reports, a screener, and tools for recording and tracking a portfolio you enter yourself.

EquityLK is not a broker, a dealer, an investment adviser, a fund manager or a licensed market data vendor. We do not execute trades, hold client money or securities, or provide personal financial advice. We are an independent platform and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by the Colombo Stock Exchange or any regulator.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Give accurate details and keep them current. You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account, so keep it to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has access.

Accounts are personal. Do not share one, sell one, or create one on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.

Everything on EquityLK is provided for information and research purposes only. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, and not an offer or solicitation of any kind. It takes no account of your circumstances, your objectives or your risk tolerance.

Research reports on this platform are generated by automated systems. They can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and a stance expressed in one is not a recommendation. Investing in shares carries risk, including the loss of your capital, and past performance tells you nothing reliable about future performance. Decisions are yours, and you should take licensed professional advice before making them.

Using EquityLK creates no adviser and client relationship, no broker and investor relationship, no fiduciary duty and no obligation on us to advise you. For advice on your own position, consult a licensed adviser.

The platform and everything on it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the information is accurate, complete, current or fit for any purpose. Prices and other figures may be delayed, interrupted or incorrect, and must not be relied on for trading, valuation, accounting, tax or settlement purposes.

Where a figure matters to you, verify it against the company's own filings or your broker's records. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

The transactions, portfolios and watchlists you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to store and process them in order to provide the service to you. We do not publish them, share them with other users or sell them. How we handle them is set out in our privacy policy.

EquityLK does not execute, place, settle or intermediate any trade, and holds no money or securities for you. The portfolio tools record what you tell them and nothing else.

Where you import transactions, what we show is our reading of the text you provided. It may be incomplete or wrong, and corporate actions matched against announced terms are a best effort rather than a statement of record. Check an import before you rely on it, and treat your broker's and the depository's records as authoritative for what you actually hold. We are not responsible for any difference between what the platform shows and your real holdings.

EquityLK holds no non-public, inside or privileged information about any listed company, and nothing on the platform is derived from any. We are not a market intermediary and take no position in any security we write about.

Nothing published here is intended to induce any person to deal in any security, to create a misleading impression of the market in one, or to affect its price. If you believe something on the platform is inaccurate or misleading, tell us and we will look at it.

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk download any part of the platform, or access it by any automated means other than an interface we publish for that purpose;
• copy, redistribute, republish, sell, licence or otherwise make available the data, reports, charts or other content of the platform, whether or not for commercial gain, except for the limited quotation permitted below;
• use the platform, or anything obtained from it, to build, train or populate a competing product, dataset or model;
• circumvent or interfere with any rate limit, access control, authentication or other technical measure;
• reverse engineer, probe or attack the platform, or disrupt it for other users;
• use the platform for anything unlawful, including market manipulation, insider dealing or the spreading of false information about a listed company.

You may quote a short extract for commentary, journalism or research if you credit EquityLK and link to the page you took it from.

The platform, its design, its software, its written content and the selection, arrangement and presentation of the information it contains are ours, and are protected by copyright and other rights. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you. Trade marks, names and logos of third parties appearing on the platform belong to their owners and are used to identify them, not to imply any association.

EquityLK is free to use. We may add, change, limit or remove features, but we will not start charging you for something you already have without telling you first.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to attack or abuse the platform, or where we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to delete your account.

To the fullest extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, we are not liable for any trading or investment loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform or from any reliance on information obtained through it, whether or not we were told such loss was possible.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud.

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the platform.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the platform.

We may update these terms as the platform changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms. For a material change we will tell account holders by email first.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing these terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce them later. These terms are the whole agreement between us about your use of the platform.

If your account ends, for any reason, the clauses that are meant to outlast it do: limitation of liability, indemnity, our content, and market conduct.
