Hayleys Fabric PLC won the Climate Action Award at the 3rd Global ESG & Sustainability Conference & Awards 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, recognising its measurable climate action including SBTi-validated Net Zero targets, renewable energy investments and decarbonisation initiatives.
The Thailand–Sri Lanka forum highlighted the newly enacted SLTFTA and reported bilateral trade rose 48% to $649m in 2025. Officials said the FTA and related measures should expand market access and investment across logistics, manufacturing, tourism, food processing, IT and healthcare.
Teejay Lanka reported PAT of Rs. 54.7m, a 98% YoY decline, on revenue of Rs. 60.04bn (‑10% YoY) as weak global textile demand, US tariffs, pricing pressure and lower volumes hit margins. Cash was Rs. 8.3bn and NAV/share rose to Rs. 44.91 despite restructuring costs and provisions.

Hayleys PLC reported FY2025/26 revenue of Rs.585.02 bn (up 19%) and consolidated Profit Before Tax of Rs.38.04 bn (up 4%). Consumer & Retail revenue rose 44% to Rs.156.74 bn, Q4 revenue grew 29%, the group completed a Rs.9 bn rights issue and Fitch affirmed a 'AAA (lka)' rating.
Foreign investors were net sellers on the CSE yesterday with a net outflow of Rs. 2.52 billion, driven mainly by trades in Softlogic Life, Ceylon Tobacco and Hayleys Fabric. MTD net foreign outflow stood at $5.1 billion and YTD outflow at Rs. 25 billion, Asia Securities Research said.
Colombo market ended marginally higher as the ASPI rose 0.06% to 22,639.81 despite net foreign selling of Rs.2.52 billion. Softlogic Life (AAIC) and Ceylon Tobacco (CTC) topped foreign selling and AAIC led turnover with a ~Rs.1.3bn crossing; insurance, food & banking dominated activity.
